Dr W Kuan Hon https://www.kuan0.com is Of Counsel in leading international law firm Dentons's Privacy and Cybersecurity Group. An English solicitor and New York attorney, with degrees in computing science as well as law, Kuan advises not only on data protection and security (like GDPR/ePrivacy, the UK NIS Regulations, EU NIS2 Directive and EU DORA), and but also on broader technology/data-related legal/regulatory issues including artificial intelligence and digital services/online safety (such as the EU AI Act, UK Online Safety Act, EU Digital Services Act and EU Data Act). She is an Editor of the Encyclopedia of Data Protection and Privacy, was a member of the UK government's International Data Transfer Expert Council, and was previously a guest lecturer on AI-related laws for Imperial College London's AI MSc students and on data protection laws for its undergraduate Computing Science students. Kuan has also volunteered for the UK Information Commissioner's Office, the UK National Cyber Security Centre, and the UN Privacy Preserving Techniques Legal Task Team. 

Kuan is the author of "Technology and Security for Lawyers and Other Professionals: The Basics and Beyond" (2024), including 5 chapters on security (concepts, attack vectors, cryptography, PKI, passwords and attack and defence), and 5 chapters on AI (covering key AI/machine-learning concepts, and privacy-enhancing technologies like differential privacy and federated learning). Her previous book was on "Data localization laws and policy - the EU data protection international transfers restriction through a cloud computing lens". She has contributed to books on cloud computing law, and written or co-authored numerous articles/papers. Kuan regularly speaks at external or client-only events/webinars.
