MidPoint was designed with data protection in mind from the beginning. In 2020, Evolveum introduced midPrivacy, an initiative to develop a privacy-enhancing identity management solution on top of midPoint. Data provenance (data origin) became part of midPoint 4.2. MidPoint is still one of the only identity management and governance administration platforms that incorporated data provenance. It laid a solid foundation to build a full suite of privacy-enhancing features in the future
You can rely on midPoint when it comes to the accountability and visibility of identity data in meeting the requirements of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). MidPoint is an excellent record keeper that will also help you orientate in the scopes the consent was given for.
Are there any transfers of personal data outside EEA when using your tool?
MidPoint can be deployed on premises or in the cloud. Therefore, it is up to each customer to decide what is their preferred approach.
If they decided to deploy midPoint on premises, all data would stay on their servers.
If they decided to deploy midPoint in the cloud, they could choose a cloud provider that would fulfill their specific needs.
